In December, 2015, Fran and I sold our house and moved to Belize, where we became houseparents to eight young boys. Our family of six arrived in a small village in the jungle where we began our journey with few expectations. Our position brought challenges of every sort, but we remained steadfast in our faith and belief that God had in fact called us and was working all things out for our good and His glory. As the months progressed, we felt our hearts increasingly burdened to consider the adoption of two brothers that we had already been caring for as our own. But could God really be calling us to this? We already had four children of our own with limited financial resources and an uncertain employment future. As we prayerfully sought confirmation, His call to adopt became increasingly clear, even after the brothers were joined by their other two brothers making it a sibling set of four!
We watched as the boys progressed from being emotionally and physically fragile, to becoming strong, vibrant members of the home. They learned respect for themselves and others, accountability, and how to live within social boundaries. It was truly an honor and a privilege to have been chosen to be a part of their story during that chapter of their lives. Now we are praying for the opportunity to continue on in their story with them, trusting that God’s timing and ways are perfect. We recently decided to return to our hometown of Memphis where we can more effectively begin the adoption process and fundraising. We invite you to consider joining us in this endeavor as we walk alongside these boys and help direct them on their paths to becoming Godly men. Needs & Opportunities Financial Support
